Accreditation

American College of Technology is accredited by the Accrediting Commission of the Distance Education and Training Council (DETC). The DETC Accrediting Commission identifies and accredits distance education and training institutions that have attained and maintained the standards deemed necessary to operate at a high level of quality. The Accrediting Commission of DETC was founded in 1955 and is presently listed (and has been since 1959) by the U.S. Department of Education as a “nationally recognized accrediting agency.” DETC’s Accrediting Commission is reviewed periodically by the U.S. Department of Education and is also recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA), a non-governmental agency that reviews and recognizes agencies that accredit degree-granting institutions.

Such articulation agreements state that ACOT degree graduates are eligible to enroll at the below listed institutions as junior status (third year) in pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in the same field of study.

It should be noted that all credits transferred to these institutions will go through the appropriate transfer credit process according to that institution. If a student wishes to continue his/her studies in a field other than the one he/she received the Associate’s Degree in, all transfer credits will be subject to the receiving institution’s policy and may not be accepted towards the new program.
